So after being away for couple of weeks, I finally managed to come out with my very first wordpress theme, fully designed and coded by me. Honestly, this kind of work is really challenging. Searching and thinking about the design is easy, but when it comes to the coding part, you can blow your head up.

Actually this is not the real design I planned. But I have to make it like this due to my limited knowledge in CSS and PHP coding. Those stuff tortured me enough for the past few weeks. Since I was very busy with my study and all, the completion of this theme was suspended for few days.

My one-week midterm break started 2 days ago and I have been sleeping late to finish this thing as fast as I could. I hope everything is going smoothly as I have lot of other stuff to take care about. Assignments and presentation. Ah. Theres always something need to be settled day by day.

About the new theme
This theme actually created based on no other theme. If this theme resembles any other theme out there, it must be some slight coincidence. All the images and designs in this theme are created by me using Macromedia Fireworks 8 without illegally ripping off other people’s website. The header is actually one of my earliest artwork, likely when I was 14 or 15 years old. It was originally drawn in Flash since my designing skill was very limited at that moment. As you can see, the image is a bit blur and the resolution is very poor because I just print-screen the image without saving the .fla source file (damn!). But I like it.

In this theme, I used several major plugins such as:
Gravatar, Simple Recent Comments, flickrRSS (thanks to ikram-zidane), Search Everything, Sociable, COntact Form ][, RunPHP and Audio Player.
What? oh Im too lazy to put the link. You can google it lah since I already put the exact name of the plugin.

The hardest part is maybe the excerpts part of the page. I tried several ways to come out with what I want. Initially, I planned to put those excerpts on the sidebar. But there always problems here and there so I just put it below the latest post. Im not sure whether I am happy or not with the outcome. By the way, thanks to Wan for giving me basic code for the excerpt
Live redesign
Currently, I havent fully satisfied with this theme because I think I need to put more stuff in the sidebar. So you might be experiencing several bugs and being blocked from viewing this blog from time to time, until everything is done. Do contact me to report any broken links or layout damages. I am testing this theme on Firefox 2 and IE6 only, and sorry, I dont give a damn to check with other browsers.

Valid CSS and XHTML
The main aim in creating a theme is of course to adhere with the webstandards as stated by W3C. Yes, I aimed to have a valid CSS and XHTML too. But since keeping the code valid is fucking tough, I decided to ignore the webstandards, maybe for this theme. As one of my friend, Cake, says - Fuck the standards.

Btw, only those who dont have the knowledge and skills to create a valid theme would say that…including me
Whats next?
I am transferring my hosting and registering my .com domain. If everything went well, everything will be settled by the end of this week.
