I want you to view my post about Digital Art Competition. Take a look at the poster. It written there : March 19 - April 18 2007, isnt it? Well, I thought the deadline to submit the design is 18. Its pretty obvious right? But it turned out that I was wrong.
I always use wi-fi in my room. So I cannot access the DAC website since its in local server. But one fine night on 14th April, I felt like connecting my LAN cable to check some stuff… I browsed into the DAC website and its written there that designs should be submitted before 13th April. wtf#01. Maybe they should emphasize on the poster that the submission date is before 13th April. hurm
So I give one of the name stated on the poster a call, for some explanation and all. She said that I can submit them that night or the next day because the design submission is still open for few days. wtf#02
But its good since I still have the chance to submit mine. Luckily I felt like designing one more wallpaper the night before. so I got 2 designs with me. Although I still need to do some modifications on the first design, but dont care lah. No time left. Need to submit faster. I have to burn the designs - two designs to be precised - into one empty CD. Approximately 1MB into a 700MB CD. wtf#03 wasted 699MB some more..
I gave the CD to one of my fren who is also a member of MEDTech - the organiser of the competition, because they were having a General Meeting at that time. So, everything went well. But then I got a call from a guy. I need to resend my details - name, student ID, course, bla bla . He said, there was some problems with the forms during the registration at their booth few weeks before. wtf#04 . Then he also asked me to submit a hardcopy of the designs. I said- “the girl at the registration booth said that I dont have to print them out, just the Digital version. He replied - “maybe she didnt know..” wtf#05
Thanks to Syaji for helping me printing them out. 
I am not expecting anything. I dont have any confidence that I could win this but I just wanted to try. The list of the Finalist is out and as expected - I am not in the list. haha Dont mind lah.
*i dont have the picture of the finalist ( their design, i mean )because my handphone ran out of battery when I was visiting their booth just now. Just imagine lah.

But I dont know how they judged the designs. Few of them does not deserved to be the finalist. I can see some better designs but they were not listed. One of the participant - he/she used a downloadable wallpaper from the internet and added some words and stuff - and he/she got listed. What a lame. There was also an issue in the DAC website - that the designs were judged based on the hardcopy. This is not supposed to happen because Digital Art competition should be judged digitally. But I dont know whether its true or not. If its true, so wtf#06 . Who are the judges anyway?
I think, my design is lack in term of the accuracy of the theme. Most of the finalists got that right. They use better images and wording to symbolize the theme very well. What can I do - I dont like to mix real images ( i.e photographes) with digital part. I dont really like that. . I have few of the designs that I like the most - because of their simplicity and the use of fresh colors. cool stuff!

Whatever it is, congratulation to those finalists. :).. and to me, try again next time. haha yah right. no more next time with those 5 or 6 wtfs. haha

Trust me, you can experience it when you have become a freelance designer (like me) huhuhu Banyak kali design yang cantik di mata aku tapi klien takmo =__=
Apapun semangat tu dah ada, itu yang penting, kan? Cuba lagi next time, dan nanti jangan buat last minit lagi dah orait!
