The wait is over. Finally, flisterz.com is valid xhtml 1.0 strict and CSS – following the web standards. Well, this is not a big deal for some of great ppl out there, but it is for me. This is my first theme to go along with the standards. clap clap.Since I start using this theme, I never give a proper name to call it. No need I guess.
At first, I never thought that validating the XHTML is going to be quite easy. Not very easy lah. But quite easy for a first timer like me. I have been waiting for the holiday so I can look through the codes again in order to validate them because I thought its going to take like 1 or 2 days to do it. But, I managed to settle them last night. Actually, I didnt plan to validate them last night but it just happen that way, so its kinda cool.
This book actually drives me in looking at web standards as a serious matter. Yes, I know its the old version(2003). But thats the only one I can find it the UTP library. (Most of the books in the library are outdated.. especially books about computer and stuff..the latest I can find from that category is from the year 2005). The book explain fundamentals understanding about web standards and it really helps me a lot in understanding certain thing I never knew. cool stuff. Now, I need to find the second edition. hurm.
Talking about validating this theme, initially, I had 50 errors. That sounds scary. Although most of them came from my own mistake for not closing certain tags, there were also errors from some plugins. The audioplayer plugin and simple recent comments plugin ( my fault for editing this plugin in the first place months ago 
) and also the shoutbox. So I need to edit their source files to validate all the theme or if not, I have to deactivate them and thats is not something I would like to do.

The error.
It seems that the the author of the plugin used a language attribute. So I just deleted the attribute from the audio-player.php (…/plugins/audio-player.php) file. This is a simple edit.Go to line 408 and change the original code to the following code:

Shoutbox
Actually theres no problem with the shoutbox. But in order to view the shoutbox, I need to use IFRAME. Iframes are still valid in frameset and transitional xhtml but not in strict. One of the solution is to use the object
Change the code from
<IFRAME frameborder="0" width="175" height="500" src=".../shoutbox.php"></IFRAME></p>
to
<object style="width:175px;height:500px" data=".../shoutbox.php" type="text/html" standby="shoutbox"></object>
(the height and width should’ve been styled in CSS intead, but its ok lah, still valid ) It works well in Firefox 2.0.0.3, Opera 9.2, Flock 0.7.1.2 and IE7. It will trigger bug/script error in IE6 sometimes..and it looks ugly also.. So people, lets browse happily. Use modern compliant browser okay?

and i don’t really know whether getting a website valid is saying he/she follow standard. I purposely failed my validity so that i serves better for viewer..

objecttag from the shoutbox coz it will crash IE6. well i thought web standards is d best solution. ehewahahah.. bagus2. demn. aku pon tak reti buat bende2 ni since my systems run only on FF which I personally installed them in client’s pc.
tak payah la nk validate2 sume ni. Hurmm.. thats a good start, and it is important for a web designer to obey the standards. anyways.. nice work. Respect!

eh2.. why is the right sidebar mcm cacat on my widescreen aa? tgk kat laptop wani ok.. but on a 1280 x 800 the grey area mcm lebih skit dr the column header kt main page. i thought it was just me.. ade kene mengena ngan codes2 tu ke? erkk laa ‘aref..
im using 1280×800 also. i increased the width of the sidebar a bit. looks ok aje. maybe the header is not at the center. i forgot to adjust the width -_-* ..

instead of saying you validated for the RSS, better you put the RSS link there..
I likes bapes it is a really dope brand to buy but I cant afford no authentic bape cuz right now Im on the welfare, so I just usually look up bape on google and buy a replica one usually the quality is pretty good. I think Bape needs some new styles though.
