As being aired on Channel [V], there is a new platform for bands across the region to show off their passion and talent in music. Any bands, any genres from any countries - gather in one place. Nice one. They have a creative logo also

AMP is a call to action for all music lovers. It is a place to discover the music and passion that flows throughout Asia. A meeting point for musicians and members to share their talents, knowledge, and mutual opportunity. AMP is a celebration of our similarities and differences - bringing the region ever-closer.
From what I understood so far, this is not a competition among those bands. It just a place to gather all those bands in one place for a better interaction between the bands, other bands, their fans and their up-coming fans.
A great tool, I believe. Well, this is kinda similar to what we all known in MySpace Music. But maybe this can be a much cleaner space for them - no spam and no annoying kids :). And they also have a cleaner interface- Just like Purevolume.

Check out some bands and artists from Malaysia (if u noticed in the URL, Malaysia is put under region 1. wow!). From Rock, Alternative, HipHop, Rap to Hardcore, Emo and even Black Metal (wtf?) ; everything is available here. You will be amazed how good our underground music scene is - a lot better than our mainstream music industry. Love hardcore music? Check out our local sound; Have A Nice Death and I Quit Antartica. Very hardcore.
And of course, check out other bands from Philippines and Indonesia as well. I believe there are a lot of great rock bands from Philippines. Very rockish! heh. To pop-punk lovers, check out Disconnected from Indonesia. They are kinda cool
Go and browse around. Dont get stuck to the same music from the radio over and over again.
But maybe the developer of the website need to do a bit revision in their system. I can actually download every single file from the website - very easy - using a simple tool. (yay!) Sorry, I am not sharing that info here. But it is not a good impression since those artist are uploading their tracks into the database and hoping that their stuff are secure there. Myspace and Purevolume have a better solution for this.
Support local underground music scene, people!
