Hello and welcome again to the series of coolness roundup. -_- so lame. I’m still in my exam period; two more papers to go before the holiday starts . Anyhow here are some cool stuff I want to share this time.

This is an article about web design trend. How to destroy the web2.0 look. The writer did a very good analysis of the so-called web2.0 trends and how we should stop this from killing the creativity of web design. Most of the good examples there are using grunge style, which I think is already there before the invasion of web2.0 design. But well, theres a lot of different views on this. What do you think?

Urbandirty.com is a gallery of free texture stock photography – texture of ‘ gritty, grimy and sometimes slimy images’ to be used in design and artwork. As a continuation from above article, this might be a good resource for grunge textures in web design as an addition to your brushes and stuff. Oh I dont use Photoshop so I dont have brushes.

I love typography. Yeah, I am currently in love with typography as well. I never know that those fonts and typefaces we are using everyday has a very detail and deep meaning in each one of them. Serif,san serif or whatever. Those curves on the letters are there for reasons. Its a tough job to design one actually. Impressive. And, now I know how important is a typography for a great web design.

Linzie Hunter experiments with hand-lettering and put them on her flickr set called Spam One-liners. All the phrases are taken from the Spam in her mailbox. What a creative idea. And she has great typography too. Everybody is loving it, now she’s printing them out as postcards. Want to buy some? All her artwork are great though.

Have you seen this kind of comic somewhere? It’s from xkcd.com, a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language. Although they are just some stick figures comic strips, the message is not as simple as that. Well, maybe it is simple, yet funny . Above comic has been an unofficial reply to all people out there who likes to claim that every photographs/ images/ pictures on the internet are photoshopped, especially on Digg.com.
