Design Bump, another social news site for designers.

If you like Design Float, a digg-like site for designers, you might want to check this out. I was contacted the other day about  Design Bump - a recently launched site to provide more resources and articles to designers.

The concept is similar to Design Float though. Although it is new, it already have its own audience  and active users in contributing/submitting the articles. Surprisingly it wasn’t built on Pligg, but Drupal. John, the founder, said in an interview that there will be more improvements to be made on Design Bump. Create an account now!

New web trend, image bookmarking site?

Wisdump.com have an article about this new web trend of image bookmarking site. I have noticed this too, but never thought that it can be a trend - but it can be, later. This was started by FFFFOUND!, a very great website that I have been using since last year, to look for graphic design inspirations.

Now we have more - like We Heart It, typeish (cool design), vi.sualize.us  and 4U (NSFW!). Since these are “image” sites, expect to see some NSFW images - welcome to the Internet.

What’s up with Google’s new favicon?

I was shocked to see Google’s latest favicon - I don’t like it at all. Anyhow, this is not the final one since Google is still experimenting with some new designs.

Actually you can participate by sending your idea to Google. By the way, you might want to check the evolution of pre-launched Gmail since 2002.

A great article form ifohdesigns in response to a 37signal’s article -  Why I Don’t Skip Photoshop (..or in my case, Fireworks :)). Also read his opinion about tag cloud. Totally agreed!

Firebug for IE! Its finally here - but in trial version. Checkout IE WebDeveloper - I haven’t try it yet just because its a trial version. I don’t want to use it for 15 days only.
